A high-profile IndyCar team is moving forward with plans to build a $2.5 million headquarters in Speedway. Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing Owner and former IndyCar driver Sarah Fisher says permits are still being secured for the project and she is looking forward to becoming a neighbor of the Dallara facility in Speedway. During an appearance on Inside INdiana Business Television, Fisher tells Gerry Dick she is excited about the move and discusses the challenges of being an open wheel racing entrepreneur.
Fisher was a driver in nine Indianapolis 500 mile races. She admits that she misses the driving aspect, but believes the best way to grow the business could be remaining outside the cockpit.
She is entering her fifth season as a team owner in the IndyCar Series.
One of the challenges heading into 2012 was securing a deal with an engine manufacturer.
Fisher says she pulled “every single string” to reach an agreement with Honda before the season started.
