Main Street back open in SpeedwaySRC Member
Speedway, Ind. Town officials dropped the checkered flag on the Main Street Construction Project Thursday morning. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the Speedway Redevelopment Commission’s first major project.
$10 million was spent to renovate the area and to lure Hoosiers back into the heart of the “Racing Capital of the World.”
“With a focus on racing, innovation and community the SRC has created a main street that will benefit our town for generations to come,” said Vince Noblet with the Speedway Redevelopment Commission.
The SRC estimates the Main Street makeover will bring more than $5 billion into Speedway during the next 10 years.
